Technology

orgsyncEver since his father instilled in him a love for computers, Andy has always had a fascination with technology.  During high school, Andy developed a passion for desktop publishing and design, as he was an editor of the school newspaper and yearbook.  His writing skills were put to good use, as he wrote for his college paper as well.

In graduate school, Andy took a course in Java programming.  Although he did not pursue that arena, Andy’s passion for computing has led him to design several websites, and help push technology forward in each of his professional positions.

At UT Arlington, Andy served as the webmaster for the redesign of the Advising Department’s website.  At the UNT Health Science Center, Andy has championed several technology initiatives, including the campus-wide adoption of OrgSync, a student organization and campus management software.  Here, Andy has collaborated closely with departments such as Marketing, IT, Community Engagement, as well as Academic Departments to ensure it’s successful deployment and ongoing success.

Andy has also become proficient in many large-scale systems, including the PeopleSoft Student Information System and the Learning Management Systems Blackboard and Canvas.  He has worked on several projects to better integrate these systems into the fabric and culture of the organizations he has been involved in.
