Education

andy small2Andy began his education in Business, where his technical prowess and analytical skills drove him to pursue a BS in Accounting from Rockhurst University.  He interned with the City of Overland Park, KS in their Audit Department and with Grant Thornton, LLP in their Tax Department.

Desiring of additional experience, Andy enrolled in graduate work at The University of Tulsa.  His passion to help others enrich their experiences led him to Tulsa Community College, where his career in higher education began as a Paraprofessional in Student Activities.

Andy went on to complete his MBA from The University of Tulsa, and was able to utilize his unique skills in business and in higher education into obtaining a position as an Academic Advisor in the College of Business at The University of Texas at Arlington.

Here, Andy excelled at combining his business acumen and his strength in connecting people with their passions.  In 2006, Andy was named the Outstanding Professional Academic Advisor for The University of Texas at Arlington.  Shortly before that, Andy began work on his PhD in Higher Education from the University of North Texas.

In 2007, Andy moved from The University of Texas at Arlington to become a Student Development Coordinator at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.  Here, Andy started the Career Services and International Student Services offices and continued excelling in his ability to connect with various constituents.

In 2009, Andy was named Director of Student Development, where he added oversight of the Student Life and Student Events & Programs areas in addition to Career Services and International Student Services.  In 2010, Andy was awarded the Thomas Moorman Unsung Hero Award for his outstanding contributions to the medical student body.
